Sister taxon: Scylacops bigendens

Type specimen: SAM-PK-2343, a partial skeleton (Flattened skull with lower jaw and some postcranial elements). Its type locality is Dunedin, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
