Sister taxa: Zegdoumys namibiensis, Zegdoumys sbeitlai

Type specimen: GZC 11, a tooth. Its type locality is Gour Lazib HGL52, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian terrestrial sandstone in the Glib Zegdou Formation of Algeria.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of Algeria (5 collections)

Total: 5 collections each including a single occurrence
