Type specimen: KNM-WK 17050, a mandible (right mandible fragment with m2 and the m3 alveolus). Its type locality is Kalodirr, west of Lake Turkana, which is in a Burdigalian channel horizon in the Lothidok Formation of Kenya.
Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore
Distribution: found only at Kalodirr, west of Lake Turkana
