Sister taxa: Archaeonycteris brailloni, Archaeonycteris relicta, Archaeonycteris storchi
Type specimen: UNLSNC-447, a tooth (right lower m1 or m2). Its type locality is Silveirinha clay pit, which is in an Eocene crevasse splay conglomerate/siliciclastic in the Silveirinha Formation of Portugal.
Ecology: volant insectivore
Distribution: found only at Silveirinha clay pit
