Sister taxa: Colpodon distinctus, Colpodon plicatus, Colpodon propinquus

Type specimen: SGOPV 5704, a set of teeth. Its type locality is Estero Correntoso, which is in a Burdigalian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone/conglomerate in the Cura-MallĂ­n Formation of Chile.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore

Distribution: found only at Estero Correntoso
