Sister taxon: Pseudoglyptodon sallaensis
Type specimen: SGO PV 2995, a partial skull. Its type locality is Tinguiririca Locality Sets 1 & 2, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial volcaniclastic in the Abanico Formation of Chile.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Oligocene of Argentina (1 collection), Chile (1)
