Sister taxa: Platidia anomioides, Platidia marylandica
Type specimen: USNM 550857e. Its type locality is USGS 25653, Navaka River (SM43C), which is in a Pleistocene carbonate sandstone in Vanuatu.
Ecology: stationary low-level epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution:
• Quaternary of Vanuatu (4 collections)
Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
