Sister taxon: Symphodus woodwardi
Type specimen: NHMW 2000z0135/0060a, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Kummer Quarry, which is in a Langhian shallow subtidal limestone in the Leitha Formation of Austria.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Kummer Quarry
