Belongs to Sinolagomys according to Bohlin 1942
Sister taxa: Sinolagomys badamae, Sinolagomys kansuensis, Sinolagomys major, Sinolagomys pachygnathus, Sinolagomys ulungurensis
Type specimen: IVPP Sh 434, a set of teeth. Its type locality is Shargaltein Gol, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in China.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of Mongolia (4 collections)
• Oligocene of China (1)
Total: 5 collections each including a single occurrence
