Type specimen: ANSP A-G.C. 6425 5a. Its type locality is Diatom Locality 14 I 80-40N, West Browns Creek, which is in a Miocene lacustrine siltstone/ash in the Chalk Hills Formation of Idaho.

Ecology: "photoautotroph"

Distribution: found only at Diatom Locality 14 I 80-40N, West Browns Creek
