Type specimen: UMMP V74320, a partial skeleton (anterior skeleton and skull). Its type locality is Ictalurus hazenensis type locality, which is in a Miocene lacustrine diatomite in the Truckee Formation of Nevada.

Ecology: nektobenthic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Ictalurus hazenensis type locality
