Sister taxon: Rhynochetos jubatus
Type specimen: MNHN NCP 700, a set of limb elements (right tibiotarsus). Its type locality is Pindai Cave, Nepoui Peninsula, which is in a Holocene cave claystone in New Caledonia.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution:
• Quaternary of New Caledonia (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
