Type specimen: CEGH-UNC 25834, a valve (internal mold of dorsal valve). Its type locality is Cerro La Chilca Section Palaeoglossa–Chilcorthis Association, which is in a Darriwilian deep-water shale/marl in the Los Azules Formation of Argentina.
