Type specimen: PIN 5496/6, a partial skull. Its type locality is Obshchii Syrt Highland, which is in an Induan terrestrial horizon in the Sukhorechka Formation of the Russian Federation.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Obshchii Syrt Highland
