Sister taxa: Chloephaga hybrida, Chloephaga picta, Chloephaga poliocephala, Chloephaga rubidiceps
Type specimen: MLP 57-VII-23-47, a limb element (distal ulna). Its type locality is Cascada Grande, which is in a Messinian/Zanclean terrestrial horizon in the Irene Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: volant herbivore
Distribution: found only at Cascada Grande
