Sister taxa: Bathornis celeripes, Bathornis cursor, Bathornis fricki, Bathornis geographicus, Bathornis grallator, Bathornis veredus, Neocathartes grallator

Type specimen: SDSM 6239, a set of postcrania (tarsometatarsus). Its type locality is Sharps (SDSM V-624), which is in a Geringian terrestrial horizon in the Sharps Formation of South Dakota.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution: found only at Sharps (SDSM V-624)
