Sister taxon: Leucokephalos zeffiae
Type specimen: MOZ-PV 969, a mandible (partial left mandible with i, p4–m2). Its type locality is Barda Negra 1, which is in a Colhuehuapian fluvial volcaniclastic in the Cerro Bandera Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of Argentina (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
