Type specimen: MCNAM (ex-MHNM) 2494, a set of teeth (right P2-3, M1, part of M2; left P2-M1). Its type locality is Divisadero Largo (Mariño), which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial sandstone in the Mariño Formation of Argentina.
