Type specimen: CMN 12340, a partial skeleton (a partial skeleton including paired frontals and parietals, right postorbital, basioccipital, basisphenoid, partial dorsal vertebra, three partial caudal verteb). Its type locality is RTMP Quarry 133, Red Deer River (NMC), which is in a Campanian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Dinosaur Park Formation of Canada.
