Sister taxa: Eumysops cavioides, Eumysops chapalmalensis, Eumysops formosus, Eumysops gracilis, Eumysops laeviplicatus, Eumysops parodii, Eumysops robustus

Type specimen: MMP 482-S, a maxilla (maxillary with both DP4–M3 series and zygomatic arches partially preserved; right hemimandible). Its type locality is Baliza San Andres, which is in a Pliocene terrestrial horizon in the San Andres Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore
