Type specimen: MfN MB.R.2091.1–30, 3817.1 and 3817.2, a set of vertebrae (Caudal vertebrae and chevrons). Its type locality is Tendaguru Quarry G, which is in a Tithonian estuary/bay marl in the Tendaguru Formation of Tanzania.
