Type specimen: SMAC1390, a partial skeleton (a single disarticulated skeleton, an incomplete skull missing most of the basicranium, with both tympanoperiotics, right mandible, partial atlas, several (at le). Its type locality is Haboro, Embetsu Formation, which is in a Zanclean marine mudstone/sandstone in the Embetsu Formation of Japan.

Ecology: aquatic piscivore

Distribution: found only at Haboro, Embetsu Formation
