Type specimen: UPM EP-II-27 (870), a partial skeleton (Fragmentary skull bones (nasals, orbitals, and jaw bones), humeral girdle (right and left scapulae and fragmentary clavicles), fore limb (right and left humeri,). Its type locality is Moscow Region Ichthyosaur V. virgatus zone, which is in a Jurassic marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
