Belongs to Mollistephanus according to R. B. Chandler and V. Dietze 2004

Sister taxa: Mollistephanus cockroadensis, Mollistephanus kondai, Mollistephanus lupheri, Mollistephanus ottiliae, Mollistephanus planulatus, Mollistephanus westermanni

Type specimen: BGS GSM 47148, a shell. Its type locality is Sandford Lane, near Sherborne, which is in a Bajocian carbonate limestone in the Inferior Oolite Formation of the United Kingdom.

Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Sandford Lane, near Sherborne
