Sister taxon: Lophocyon carpathicus
Type specimen: THB-1, a mandible (Mandible with I3 - M2 dex and P4-M2 sin). Its type locality is Thymiana B, which is in a Miocene terrestrial sandstone in the Keramaria Formation of Greece.
Ecology: scansorial carnivore-insectivore
Distribution: found only at Thymiana B
