Type specimen: BP/1/7971, a partial skull. Its type locality is Little Tugela River, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
Ecology: planktonic suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Little Tugela River
