Belongs to Serratocerithium according to R. R. Compton 1944
Sister taxon: Serratocerithium serratum
Type specimen: Stanford University 7756, a shell (basal whorl and next two whorls). Its type locality is Stanford locality 2691, ridge east of Santa Ynez Canyon, which is in a Selandian coastal sandstone in California.
Ecology: epifaunal grazer
Distribution: found only at Stanford locality 2691, ridge east of Santa Ynez Canyon
