Sister taxa: Chondrides flexilis, Chondrides furatus
Type specimen: LACM PB-1542. Its type locality is Sepulveda Boulevard tunnel, south entrance, which is in a Miocene marine sandstone in the Modelo Formation of California.
Distribution: found only at Sepulveda Boulevard tunnel, south entrance
