Type specimens:

  • Onchosaurus pharao: Its type locality is 10 km west of pyramids of Giza, which is in a Coniacian marine horizon in Egypt
  • Ischyrhiza iwakiensis: ICMCF 116, an other (rostral spine). Its type locality is Iwaki, Santonian, which is in a Santonian marine horizon in the Tamayama Formation of Japan.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Angola (1 collection), the Congo-Kinshasa (1), Egypt (1), Italy (1), Japan (1), Mexico (1), Niger (6), Syria (1)
