Type specimen: CPC 27839, a partial skull (an incomplete fronto-ethmoidal shield). Its type locality is Young et al 1992 Devonian Fish Locality 8, which is in an Emsian/Givetian marine siltstone/shale in the Aztec Siltstone Formation of Antarctica.

Distribution: found only at Young et al 1992 Devonian Fish Locality 8
