Type specimens:
- Pliolagostomus friasensis: MLP 15-419, a mandible (fragmento mandibular derecho con p4-m3). Its type locality is Canyons of Lower valley of Collón Cura River, which is in a Colloncuran terrestrial horizon in the Collón Cura Formation of Argentina.
- Prolagostomus lateralis:
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of Argentina (5 collections)
Total: 5 collections each including a single occurrence
