Sister taxon: Dolichocebus gaimanensis

Type specimen: IGM-KU 8801, a partial skeleton (young adult mandible with right and left C-M2 (8801a) and associated right talus (8801b)). Its type locality is Masato Site, which is in a Laventan/Mayoan terrestrial horizon in the Villavieja Formation of Colombia.

Ecology: arboreal frugivore-omnivore

Distribution: found only at Masato Site
