Sister taxon: Anthroosasterias huxleyi
Type specimen: NMNH 611002. Its type locality is Anthroosasterias stibareus type locality, which is in a Kinderhookian/Osagean carbonate carbonate in the Gilmore City Formation of Iowa.
Ecology: epifaunal carnivore
Distribution: found only at Anthroosasterias stibareus type locality
