Sister taxon: Gigantobatrachus casamiquelai

Type specimen: MLP 59-VII-30-1, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Laguna Blanca, which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian fluvial sandstone in the Río Frías Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Laguna Blanca
