Type specimens:
- Enchoteuthis melanae: FHSM 13049. Its type locality is Near Russell Springs, which is in a Santonian carbonate chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.
- Kansasteuthis lindneri: FHSM 13060. Its type locality is Southern Rooks County, next to road, which is in a Coniacian carbonate chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.
- Niobrarateuthis walkeri: Its type locality is 13 miles NW of Hays, which is in a Coniacian carbonate chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.
Ecology: fast-moving nektobenthic carnivore
Distribution:
• Cretaceous of Canada (5: Manitoba collections), United States (6: Kansas, Wyoming)
Total: 11 collections each including a single occurrence
