I dedicate this species to the late Constantinos D. Theocharopoulos (Kostaki for friends) who showed admirable character and stamina when we collected the Karydia material in the rain.

Type specimen: UU 1014, a tooth (right m1). Its type locality is Karyidia, which is in a MN 4 terrestrial horizon in Greece.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore-insectivore
Distribution: found only at Karyidia
