Sister taxon: Gaidropsarus murdjadjensis
Type specimen: NHMW 1988/140/137a+b, an otolith. Its type locality is Kummer Quarry, which is in a Langhian shallow subtidal limestone in the Leitha Formation of Austria.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Kummer Quarry
