Sister taxa: Bulungu muirheadae, Bulungu palara
Type specimen: SAM P13853, a partial skull (right dentary with m1-4 and associated right maxilla fragment with M3 and partial M4). Its type locality is Ngapakaldi Quarry, which is in an Oligocene shoreface mudstone in the Etadunna Formation of Australia.
Ecology: scansorial omnivore
Distribution: found only at Ngapakaldi Quarry
