Type specimens:

  • Agriotherium schneideri: FGS 6856. Its type locality is American Cyanimid Company, which is in a Tortonian marginal marine sandstone in the Peace River Formation of Florida.
  • Agriotherium coffeyi: MWSU 12146, a mandible (t lower jaw ramus with canine, alveolus of P1, and complete P3-M3). Its type locality is Coffee Ranch, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in Texas.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore-omnivore

• Blancan of Mexico (1 collection), United States (1: Idaho)

• Hemphillian of Mexico (11), United States (3: Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas)

• Miocene of United States (1: Florida)
