Sister taxa: Cryptocheilus hypogaeus, Cryptochilus dubius
Type specimen: MM 12192, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Skærbæk Klint, ash layer -16, which is in a Ypresian marine diatomite in the Fur Formation of Denmark.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Skærbæk Klint, ash layer -16
