Sister taxon: Saxituberosa titan

Type specimen: LACMIP 13354, a partial shell. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 1588, Warm Springs Mountain, which is in a Danian transition zone/lower shoreface shale in the San Francisquito Formation of California.

Ecology: epifaunal carnivore

Distribution:

• Paleocene of United States (2: California collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
