Sister taxa: Brachyerix macrotis, Brachyerix richi

Type specimen: TMM 40635-149, a partial skull (associated maxilla fragment with P3-M 1, cranium, and left mandible with incisor, P4-M3). Its type locality is Castolon (TMM 40635), which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in the Delaho Formation of Texas.

Ecology: semifossorial insectivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Castolon (TMM 40635)
