Sister taxa: Neogriffithides almensis, Neogriffithides gemmellaroi, Neogriffithides imbricatus, Neogriffithides ismailensis, Neogriffithides pecencis, Neogriffithides pulchellus, Neoproetus (Siciliproetus) sicula
Type specimen: UMUT PA33621, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is KF212, Matashirosawa Valley, Shigejisawa Valley, Kamiyasse, Miyagi Prefecture, which is in a Wordian offshore shelf shale in the Hoso-o Formation of Japan.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
