Belongs to Ditomopyge according to U. Flick and Y. Shiino 2021

Sister taxa: Ditomopyge (Carniphillipsia), Ditomopyge amorni, Ditomopyge bjornensis, Ditomopyge decurtata, Ditomopyge dereimsi, Ditomopyge fatmii, Ditomopyge granulata, Ditomopyge kumpani, Ditomopyge meridionalis, Ditomopyge ovalis, Ditomopyge scitula, Ditomopyge scitulus, Ditomopyge sichuanensis, Ditomopyge whitei, Ditomopyge yampupatensis

Type specimen: Koizumi 556, TMS, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is KF212, Matashirosawa Valley, Shigejisawa Valley, Kamiyasse, Miyagi Prefecture, which is in a Wordian offshore shelf shale in the Hoso-o Formation of Japan.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
