Sister taxa: Glyptotermes grimaldii, Glyptotermes paleoliberatus, Glyptotermes pusillus, Glyptotermes shandongianus
Type specimen: IGR.ET2020/017, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Ethiopian amber (IGR collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Ethiopia.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Ethiopian amber (IGR collection)
