Type specimen: CPC 238, a partial skeleton (fragmentary skull, pectoral girdle, and right forefin). Its type locality is Sierra El Jabalí, next to Gomez Farías, which is in a Kimmeridgian offshore shale in the La Casita Formation of Mexico.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Sierra El Jabalí, next to Gomez Farías
