Sister taxa: Taeniurops cavernosa, Taeniurops grabata
Type specimen: SHA-34-28, a tooth. Its type locality is SHA-34, Sharbithat Bay, which is in an Aquitanian carbonate limestone in the Shuwayr Formation of Oman.
Ecology: nektobenthic carnivore
Distribution: found only at SHA-34, Sharbithat Bay
