Type specimen: CIT 2039, a partial skull (a fragmentary skull and lower jaw with C, deciduous and permanent upper premolars, M1 to M3, and P2-P4., M2 and 3). Its type locality is Barstow (CIT 288), which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Barstow Formation of California.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore-omnivore
