Sister taxa: none
Type specimen: SAM, a partial skeleton (incomplete fish wanting fins and tail in counterpart). Its type locality is Soetendalsvlei, which is in a Tournaisian lacustrine - large mudstone/marl in the Waaiport Formation of South Africa.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Soetendalsvlei
