Sister taxa: Bocchus primaevus, Bocchus schmalhauseni, Bocchus vetustus
Type specimen: SIZK Les-1, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Rovno Amber, Lisove locality (SIZK Les collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Ukraine.
